Dhangarwada spring

This spring feeds Simpson tank. The spring is located a few hundred feet from Simpson tank. Above the tank are located horse and pony stables, a godown and a car park. Horses and ponies are given a bath at the tank so there is nothing more to be said.

From Simpson tank the stream starts meanders it’s way to excellent viewing spot from where the water cascades down into the valley. The beauty looks enchanting from lower Hart point. This waterfall can be seen in the photos below. It is a gradual descent of about 300 feet from Simpson tank. The stream flows through a broad green valley called Vetaleshwar valley with the Panorama massif on the right and Hart point ridge on the left. Very few people venture up to this end point as it involves a tricky descent. I have been introducing this spot to many friends over the past 35 years and all have thoroughly enjoyed it. It is one of the quietest spots in Matheran. This Vetaleshwar valley is full of bird life, one can often see or hear the Malabar Giant Squirrel here.
