A woody climber, synonym is Diploclisia glaucescens, in Marathi known as Vatan vel. This climber adds a lot of character to the forest, twisting and winding it’s way from branch to branch. In the flowering season, which is Oct-March, it’s beautiful yellow flowers will catch the attention of anyone, even a non botanist. The fruit is egg shaped or oblong, about an inch long. The photo below will speak for itself. It’s leaves are cordate and has medicinal value. This photo was taken on the way to Maldunga point.
It’s leaves and stem have been mentioned in Chinese medicine and folk practices. It serves as remedies for rheumatism, snakebites, biliousness, and venereal diseases.
