Common name is Rattleweed, because when it’s fruit is shaken it makes a sound like a rattle. It is an annual herb. Leaves are simple, inverted and lance shaped. The petals of the flower are yellow with fine purple lines near the base. Pods are greenish to start with and turns brown to black at maturity.
