Curculigo orchiodes


Common name is Golden Eye Grass, Kali Musli in Marathi. It is a tuberous herb growing from 10-35 cm tall. It flowers soon after the monsoon breaks. This photo was taken in the month of June, en route to Garbit point. The rhizome is used in Ayurvedic medicine and is used for the treatment of decline in strength, jaundice and asthma. It is said to have aphrodisiac, anticancer, antioxidant and antidiabetic properties.
